Based on my extensive experience serving the public in law enforcement,

being an elected city leader, and currently serving you as a Deputy Sheriff for

San Mateo County, I am seeking your vote for Sheriff in June of 2018.
I have committed more than 36 years to protecting and serving the public

and, like you, can see that change is needed.  Law enforcement must be

transparent and work with the community, to ensure that public safety is not a

commodity available only to certain groups of people.
As your Sheriff, I give you my pledge to implement the values of integrity,

accountability, and honesty.  I believe it is imperative to examine where

we've  been,  so that we can enact bold new strategies for progressive policing,

which will lead us to a more stable future.
If elected, I will provide leadership skills with confidence, flexibility

and a proactive approach to problem-solving. I am on YOUR side.  I will

lead by  example, and foster an atmosphere of trust and an open door

to best enable all  who serve alongside me.

I am proud to be part of what makes our community strong

and consider it a privilege to serve you. – Mark D.  Melville
